寄生虫是一类特殊的动物,需要寄生在一个或多个宿主体内。我们不仅研究寄生虫的形态、生活史、感染力、抗药性等基本寄生虫学特征,还研究基因及蛋白功能与进化。

学术成就
一直从事人兽共患寄生虫的研究,并取得显著成绩,2005年迄今,在PNAS、the Lancet Infectious Diseases和Molecular Biology and Evolution等国际顶级学术期刊杂志发表论文多篇,SCI论文七十余篇,影响因子10及以上有十余篇,得到寄生生物领域国内外同行认可。
研究成果加深了学术界对寄生生物的生物学特性在细胞,蛋白及分子水平上的认识,在物种形成及进化等宏观方面做出了积极贡献,也为寄生虫的控制及药物靶点设计提供了重要的理论基础。
获广东省杰青项目、欧盟居里夫人基金访问学者项目、瑞典国际科学基金青年项目、广州市珠江新星等人才计划资助。
